What is The City?
The City is web-based software that will help our church connect people into community, build deeper relationships, mobilize service and mission, and make a lasting impact on our world with the Gospel.

Is this just “Christian Facebook”?
Not at all. While it does leverage some of the best features of common social networking platforms, and complements much of what you use Facebook for, The City is especially designed to help churches build real, not virtual, community. The City will help everyone in our church be more connected to the life and ministry that is already happening at New Life, will give us all new opportunities to build new relationships within the church and with our neighbors outside the church, and will enable pastors, leaders, and staff to streamline many time-consuming administrative tasks so we can all focus more on doing the work of ministry.
Do I have to use it?
In short, yes. Because The City is for the whole church, this is a required platform for all pastors, all administrators, all leaders, all members/non-members to use. The City will quickly becme the main channel for church-wide communication, so anyone who might choose to ‘opt-out’ would be opting-out of staying connected to what is happening around the church.
We do realize that this might require a small investment of time and effort as we all learn a somewhat new system. We’re confident, though, that each of you will have the same overwhelmingly positive experience we have had as we’ve begun using The City: this is a system that is intuitive, useful, and a lot of fun to use. We’re confident that you’ll love it as you discover all that The City has to offer.
